Heart of Relating Camping Retreat
Brad Richecoeur and Joanna Watters
Meditation, Freestyle Movement (without Qigong) and Enquiry
July 21st -28th 2024
Gidleigh Village Hall, near Chagford, North Dartmoor, Devon
We have decided to postpone this retreat, email Penny if you’re interested in joining us another time.
During this camping retreat we will explore the freedom and ease possible in relating with ourself, each other and the world whilst we rest in the sense of being ‘already connected’.
We often think of relating as if it is something optional, whereas in fact we are in constant relationship with what is arising within ourselves (the rich multiplicity of thoughts, feelings and sensations), between us and in connection with both the natural and the human-made world.
This is a radical and deceptively simple exploration – through a mixture of sitting, free style movement, spoken enquiry, silence and heart dialogue, we can recognise the ways that we have learnt to adapt and resist being here as we actually are, noticing how this keeps us isolated and feeling separate from our source nature, our authentic sense of self and our meetings with others. We will find out what it’s actually like, beyond our ideas, beliefs and concerns, to stay close with ourselves whilst meeting another, and how it is to contribute our individuality into the collective field. We will explore our direct sense of different qualities of the heart, both the timeless and sacred and also our tenderness and sensitivity.
Gidleigh Village Hall is just over 2 miles from Chagford on the northern side of Dartmoor, see here for more information. We camp in its grounds, have sole use of the large practice space, as well as a kitchen, toilets and shower. The cost includes all food and tuition. We will have cooking rota, where everyone does some cooking in pairs.
