BuddhaDharmaSangha Camp
August 13th-21st 2022
Together with Kirsten Kratz, Catherine McGee and Yanai Postelnik.
The camp is a wonderful opportunity to practice Dharma in the time honoured way of the Buddha – together with a like minded Sangha; the community, co-created by each of us; held by and being part of the wider community of the natural world. The days will include Insight and Samatha Meditation, Qigong and movement, as well as relational and community practices.
We will devote time for sharing our experience in seeking to apply the dharma to our lives and the world, exploring ways to nurture spiritual companionship. There will be space for formal practices, dharma teachings sharing groups, rituals as well as time for enjoying our being part of the natural world and hanging out with others, walks, swimming in the river, nights around the campfire, star gazing, songs, stories and… whatever we decide to create!
Awakening Together Camp
Dates TBA.
Together with Joanna Watters
Through the simple and powerful practices of enquiry, meditation, bodywork, Qigong, free movement and heart dialogue we will cultivate our sense of Presence, so that this becomes the familiar ground from which we relate to each moment. Resting back in Presence we will relax into and celebrate the simplicity of camp life together as we cook, clean, sing, dance, breathe, move, relate, walk, swim, sit around the fire, gaze at the stars and eat delicious vegetarian food. This is individual and relational practice, with ourselves, each other and our environment.
About Our Camps
The venue for all of our summer camps exudes both the peace and wildness of the moors. It is surrounded by hills, trees and bordered by the bubbling Holy Brook. We are within easy walking distance of the River Dart, with its swimming places and wooded walks, as well as the open moor and its magical wildness. We bathe in the stream and use especially made ‘earth latrine’ loo’s. We have the use of a large Yurt, marquee, several geodomes and a sauna.
General Camp Guidelines
These are small, intimate camps. We request that no drugs or dogs are brought to the camp.
In order to create the possibility of deepening into common-unity we request no arrivals after the starting day and no departures before the end.
Food
We will be cooking communally using mainly local organic vegetables and vegetarian wholefoods. We will try and cater for special diets as much as possible.
Children
The camps are family friendly, with the children having their own domes and games and activities are offered for children aged three and above for the main morning and afternoon sessions. Under-threes need to have parental supervision.
