Daverick Leggett
Daverick Leggett began his working life as a farmer and gardener. He subsequently moved into a community with a focus on communal living, sustainable lifestyle and public education. His interest in education then led him to train and work for five years as a teacher in the state comprehensive education system. These early experinces laid the ground for the development of his current work as a teacher and writer.
Qualifying as a Shiatsu practitioner in 1987, Daverick moved on to become a regional director of the European Shiatsu School. During this time he was active as a member of the UK Shiatsu Society management group and later became an editor of its journal. Following a move to Devon in the early 1990's Daverick became a director of the Centre for Oriental Medicine.
The focus of the 90's was the development of his Qigong training with Zhixing Wang and his emergence as a writer, specialising in the field of nutrition and energy medicine. He began teaching Qigong in 1995. His two books were published in 1994 and 1999. Daverick teaches Qigong and Chinese medicine throughout the UK and abroad.
The titles of his two books (Helping Ourselves and Recipes for Self-Healing) contain the essential intent of his work: finding ways of helping people to help themselves to deeper health and more vibrant living. Daverick lives with ten year old son in Dartington, Devon.
