Brad Richecoeur and Joanna Watters
Welcombe Bay, North Devon
Joanna and Brad are long term friends and colleagues in “This Movement” (an approach to embodied awakening). We are both excited by the prospect of offering our first retreat together, weaving our similar but different perspectives of living this extraordinary gift of life.
Our intention is to support you to experience the play between Awareness and Energy. We can see how Awareness opens Energy and without effort, by simply receiving this moment our capacity is awakened to let life come through. We also become curious how Energy attracts Awareness, calling us to inhabit this precious human existence and opening the possibility of embodiment in the everydayness of life.
We will bring the simple and powerful practices of enquiry, meditation, bodywork, Qigong, free movement and heart dialogue as tools to wake up. This is both individual practice, practice with another and exploration of connection in nature.
Living simply together on a friend’s organic small holding, in the beautiful unspoilt nature of Welcombe Bay, 20 minutes walk from a secluded beach, with the local village hall for meeting, cooking and showering.
There will be focused time in sessions throughout the day, held by Brad and/or Joanna, plus free time for digestion/resting, walking to the beach and the cliffs. There will also be community time for meals and connecting around a camp fire, and individual sessions for one to one guidance and support.

Excerpts from A Great Wagon, by Rumi
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.”
